Diversity and Inclusion Awards

Diversity and Inclusion Awards & Recognition celebrated excellent achievers of individuals and organizations who are champion of a more peaceful, equal and inclusive society on Friday 29th 2018 at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi. This year’s theme was Celebrating Unity in Diversity.  Among the nominated people was our very own National Coordinator Hon. Sen. (Dr.) Isaac M. Mwaura who was recognized under the Award Category 1 3 on Diversity and Inclusion PWD Inclusion Champion Award.

The award celebrated Hon. Isaac Mwaura for initiating and leading actions to remove barriers to opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), demonstrating excellence in the delivery of services to them or running empowerment programs that are gearing towards encouraging and motivating persons with disabilities to realize their full potential.

After months of judgment, Hon. Isaac Mwaura emerged to be the first runners-up. Maria Omari of Action foundation emerged the winner under this category. They were other categories including Diversity and Inclusion Celebrity of the Year Award that went to Erick Wainaina.  Diversity and Inclusion Best Local Arts and Culture media Production Award went to Churchill Show. Diversity and Inclusion Most Innovative Deployment of Technology Award went to Safaricom Limited among other awards.

We remain to be proud of our National Coordinator and the work he has done and still doing to people with disabilities in various aspects. As Charles de Lint once said, “Every time you do a good deed you shine the light a little farther into the dark. And the thing is when you’re gone that light is going to keep shining on, pushing the shadows back.”
